Fuego del Sol Haiti
Title: “Lifting Endless Possibilities of Recycling; New Trends in Transforming Waste to Energy”
Kevin founded the social-eco enterprise, FdS Haiti, which works with local communities to address issues people find most daunting in their lives. Kevin developed the: Listen. Lead. Listen Again. implementation strategy, which is also Kevin’s article and book series at medium.com/@kevinadair. They are implementing sustainable cooking systems, and new recycling technologies in Haiti and the Dominican Republic through waste-to-energy, ultra-efficient biomass gasification, and solar cooking. Haiti is cooking with 900,000+ tons of charcoal every year which translates into millions of tons of trees destroyed both in Haiti and in the Dominican Republic. Haiti is significantly deforested, but they have millions of tons of biomass waste that we are working to direct toward clean cooking options. Haiti is the 10th least developed country in the world. They provide services to the US Embassy and the UN in Haiti.
Kevin Adair sees each human life as a century-long interactive creative performance. International audiences may recognize Kevin as a juggler, magician, hypnotist, fire dancer, and motivator. After decades of performing and over 10,000 shows, Kevin’s trade-winds led him to the Dominican Republic and Haiti, where for 12 years he has worked in social, ecological and community development. Kevin holds a Double BA with Honors from Illinois Wesleyan University, with continuing education credits including the National Geographic Society Geotourism Ambassador Training.
